A coffee with Laura
For the last few years, I have met so many inspiring people and would love to share a sip of them. Let's have a coffee with Laura C Murphy.
Who is Laura C Murphy?
I am a UX-design student that currently lives in Oslo, Norway, although I was born and raised in Great Britain. UX design is basically the design of technology and how people experience technology, so a lot of the time we are programming or making cool prototypes.
I’m pretty basic, so my favourite things are traveling, watching Youtube, dumplings, workout classes, and hanging out with friends, family and boyfriend.
How would you describe the perfect day?
I am definitely a morning person – so my perfect day would start pretty early. I would have something planned that day, some kind of adventure – maybe it’s the day I’m going on holiday and I’m on the way to the airport!
I love those days, and I love airports. So I think I would be going to Italy, and when I walk off the plane the air is really warm. Then we, my boyfriend and I, would get to the hotel and it’s super fancy.
We get dinner, pasta probably, and then we go to sleep in the comfiest hotel bed. That would be a great day!
How do you stir things up?
By never sugar-coating my opinion if I feel passionate about something.
I think maybe looks can be deceiving and some people assume I’m very soft spoken, but I’m very direct and clear about the things that are important to me.
What’s the best advice you have ever received?
From my mum (where all the best advice comes from), and it’s that you shouldn’t spend time worrying if other people are judging you or thinking negatively about you, because most likely they’re not even thinking about you, they’re thinking about themselves to me.
