Hi Philippine and Charlotte, welcome to the Lepelclub journal. We’re so happy to have you here with us! First things first, can you tell us a little more about yourself?
We’re not just business partners; we’re also good friends who share our passion for beauty. We’re both in our early thirties, live in Amsterdam and became boys-moms just 2 months after each other, which makes our journey together even more special.
You've found the go-to spot for the coolest niche brands and top-tier beauty tools. What sparked the idea behind the Coucou Club?
Philippine visited Charlotte who lived in beauty-rich New York at the time. It was always a dream starting our own business and we jumped into the gap of launching a complete beauty tool line. After 5 years we gained a lot of consumer insights from other brands we offered, but recently decided to let them go and fully focus on our own brand Coucou!
At Lepelclub we can’t live without your beauty tools! How do you select new tools that become part of the Coucou Club?
We’re all about blending timeless rituals with the latest trends. We test everything to ensure our beauty tools are effective, results-driven, and, most importantly, fun!
What is your go-to drink during a morning routine?
Haha this question is easier for our evening drinks ;). In the morning it’s lemon water for a fresh start and a strong black coffee to kick things into gear.
What have been the most challenging, and most rewarding, parts of founding and growing your business?
In the fast paced beauty industry it’s always a challenge to stay relevant, and that’s why we’re on top of the latest trends. It’s then very rewarding when we receive positive feedback from our community or when we spot our Coucou stickers on places we’d never expect.
What’s the best piece of advice, personal or professional, you’ve ever received?
Just do it. And we know this is not easy, but fulfilling your dream starts with small steps, because those turn into bigger results. And along the way try to stay close to your own vision.
And finally, how are you planning to stir things up in the future?
Exciting news alert! We’re about to launch our first Coucou Skin product this November. And stay tuned for more skin-boosting surprises to enhance your beauty and mood!
