Hi Millie, welcome to the journal- we are so excited to have you here! Could you tell us more about yourself?
Hello, thank you for having me! I'm the founder of The New Archive, a womenswear brand for the curious and the captivating. Before starting my brand, I worked for Odd Muse. My background is all things product, I love sketching designs, discovering new fabrics, analysing colours and watching my ideas develop into products for people to love forever. A colour trend I'm excited to see develop is pink for SS25!
Where did you grow up and where do you reside now?
Hello, thank you for having me! I'm the founder of The New Archive, a womenswear brand for the curious and the captivating. Before starting my brand, I worked for Odd Muse. My background is all things product, I love sketching designs, discovering new fabrics, analysing colours and watching my ideas develop into products for people to love forever. I am originally from the Norfolk countryside but have always had a love for London so that is where I chose to go to university and I remained there until I moved home a few months ago, back to the countryside, to start The New Archive.
What inspired you to start The New Archive?
An obvious answer but very true to me - it is something I have always wanted to do. As a little girl my dream was to be a fashion designer and have my own brand so from that moment it has been my goal. I have always had a love for the industry and knew that I would be a part of it someway, somehow. I studied fashion at University which lead me to get a job with Odd Muse. Aimee, the founder, is an inspiration in herself and the experience I gained working at Odd Muse from so early on gave me the confidence, when given the opportunity, to start on my own. My time at Odd Muse really was invaluable and I miss my Odd Muse family a lot.
What is one staple item you believe everybody should keep in their wardrobe?
Denim. There is nothing more timeless than denim. Denim jeans with a perfect fitting white tee, in my opinion, will forever be the most effortless 'off-duty' look that anyone and everyone can feel confident in.
What has been the most rewarding part of being an Entrepeneur so far?
Seeing people wearing my clothes is surreal and something I am not sure I will ever get used to. I have had such lovely feedback from customers and influencers - seeing them all wear the pieces in their own way and all look so individually amazing is so rewarding.
How do you relax after a long day at work?
One of the biggest perks of moving back to Norfolk is being surrounded by countryside. Not far from me there is a floating sauna on a beautiful lake so I love to book a session there - there is no feeling like it.
If you could have dinner with any fashion icon, who would it be?
Ralph Lauren. One of the most talented and iconic fashion designers there is. He has built a world, not just a brand. His fashion sense is instantly recognisable and has built a style that will stand the test of time - that to me makes a fashion icon.
How do you take your coffee?
Decaf cappuccino with regular milk and extra chocolate
